The Milton House Museum and Company K, 2nd Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry invite the general public to experience life during the American Civil War as the grounds of the historic Milton House Museum are transported to the 1860s on Saturday May 18th and Sunday May 19th during the museum's most popular annual event.
Civil War Days Living History Event is the largest annual educational event put on by the MIlton House Museum. Each year, the museum welcomes over 1,500 school students from public, parochial, and home schools for the school day portion of the evnet, and welcomes 500+ community members to gthe grounds during the weekend portion of the event.
Keeping this educational accessible by offering at at low or no cost is essential for the museum to advance its mission of preserving and disseminating Milton's history, to educate on how our understanding of history informs how we view our nation today through this event.

Explore the Milton House Museum at your own pace, while being transported back to the days of stagecoaches and Civil War soldiers through immersive interaction with actors portraying Civil War soldiers, Milton locals and traveling guests of Joseph Goodrich. Hear the harrowing journey of Freedom Seeker Andrew Pratt before walking in the footsteps of Freedom Seekers through the candle lit tunnel.
Complete your experience by having a pint of Goodworks Brewing Co. locally brewed beer or a Gray's Brewing non-alcoholic ginger beer or root beer, with President Lincoln in the Tomah Community Room located on the second floor of the Milton House Museum.
